Kobi & Brad
Boyd Baker Residence is rapidly becoming one of my favourite Australian wedding destinations. Surrounded by native Australian bush, this mid century home supplies such an extraordinary backdrop for celebrations.
Kobi tells their story. “We had been introduced by buddies right after several hints & recommendations that we would hit it off.”
Xiss Photography has captured such beautiful, relaxed photographs of Kobi and Brad’s celebration. I enjoy the relaxed laughter and enjoyable of the photographs.
Kobi and Brad held their ceremony and reception at Boyd Baker Home. Kobi explains “We chose Boyd Baker Property as it was various to any other venue we had observed. Its uniquely Australian & allowed us to have the relaxed, enjoyable wedding we hoped for.
The residence is filled with lovely Eames furniture & artwork. The day before the wedding our bridal party had a working bee & arranged all the furniture ourselves. As it was summer season we had been in a position to set up an outdoor lounge room beneath lanterns. The contrast of the gorgeous furniture set in the middle of the gum trees made guests really feel so comfy & the pictures look amazing.”
Kobi wore a gown developed by Annette Of Melbourne, she borrowed her jewels from her mother.
Kobi recalls, “The night just before the wedding my mum, sister & bridesmaids helped make personalised straws that had been given to guests in bottles of mineral water at the ceremony. Lucky we did as it was a quite hot afternoon.”
Kobi walked down the aisle to ‘Inevitable’ by An Berlin. Kobi loved “Having my dad walk me down the aisle, he was a lot more nervous than me & I had to talk him by means of it. As the oldest daughter in my family it was extremely emotional & beautiful to see my dad so proud.”
Kobi’s favourite memory was, “Seeing Brad as I walked up the aisle. He is normally so composed & to see him so emotional & pleased was lovely. We also got to devote some time alone immediately after the ceremony which was actually nice. We got a likelihood to chat & reflect on the ceremony & have our first conversation as husband & wife. Some of my favourite photographs are of us obtaining these chats.” The couple chose Maree Livy as their celebrant.
Kobi and Brad were determined that the wedding reflect their way of life. Kobi explains “I loved the truth that our wedding was relaxed. We decided to forgo a couple of wedding traditions to make the night much more relaxing for us & in turn our guests. The bush setting & lovely balmy evening & outdoor setting helped achieve this really feel also.”
Kobi remembers “After the ceremony & a handful of images, we organised to have some time to catch up with our bridal party. Brad had organised bottles of Bollinger & the caterer organised a choice of food from the lovely grazing table. It was so relaxing to sit down & chat with our closest friends just before we rejoined the rest of the guests back at the reception.” Kobi’s bridesmaids wore gowns from ME as well by Matthew Eager.
Of their photographer, Kobi says “James was amazing! Each Brad & I had been fairly camera shy but James produced us feel so comfortable & we forgot he was even taking pictures. It was critical for us to have lots of candid shots of our guests, loved ones & buddies & James captured the night beautifully. By the finish of the evening he was a portion of the family members!”
For favors, Kobi handmade an old family recipe. She recalls “I created raspberry jam favours for our guests, utilizing Brad’s grandmother’s recipe.”
Food & wine also topped the “important!” list. Kobi explains “Ed Dixon Food Design supplied an exceptional service. Our guests were able to feast on a grazing table like uncommon roast beef, cheeses, salmon and so forth. Ahead of a selection of hot & cold canapés including momofuku buns, foie gras macaroons, pork hot pots & later in the evening fish & chips.”
Along with the savoury food, was a selection of cupcakes by Cupcake Queens . Kobi explains “The food, wine & cocktails had been something that Brad & I place a lot of thought into. We definitely love food & cooking for our friends & household so we wanted our wedding to reflect who we are & what we adore.”
One particular of the best components of the newlywed’s evening? The speeches of course! Kobi remarks “The speeches were the highlight for Brad & I. Both of our fathers gave beautiful heart warming speeches followed by our Best Man & Brads brother Dene whose speech has our guests crying with laughter. I was particularly moved by my sister & Maid Of Honour Deonne, at the final minute she decided she would like to make a speech. There was not a dry eye left as her words had been so complete of enjoy & help for Brad & I.”
Thistle Flower Merchant ( 0422 041 437 ) designed the floral arrangements for the wedding. Kobi recalls “Prue from Thistle Flower Merchant spent hours arranging hundreds of candles, jars, flowers & hand creating tissue paper pom poms. As nicely as our bouquets which were gorgeous, I gave her a short of the kind of look I was going for then gave her complete manage to choose on the varieties of flowers & how she would arrange them. She was a superstar! The arrangement in the large fireplace is one particular of my favourite pictures from the complete night.”
In keeping with the relaxed style of the wedding, guests danced as they pleased! Says Kobi “We decided not to do a 1st dance so we could keep formalities to a minimum. The concentrate of our wedding was food, wine & fun!”
Congratulations on your marriage Kobi and Brad! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Xiss Photography for sharing nowadays’s images.
