Jess and Luke
What a beautiful wedding Jess and Luke had. Flower crowns, ruffle skirts, streamers and ribbon wands = a gorgeous, spring, garden party! Jess and Luke threw out tradition and married on a Wednesday, the most splendid way to celebrate their six year anniversary!
Jess tells their story. “Luke and I met in a really unromantic way – at a pub! From our first date although we each felt so comfortable with each and every other (it was like I had recognized him my complete life!) and early on we knew that this was it. Six years later on our anniversary we had been married!”
Boots Photography captured the sun shiney, beautiful images of Jess and Luke’s wedding day.
Jess wore a gown from Ouma and paired wit with copper heart Vivienne Westwood for Melissa slingbacks.
Jess” bridesmaids wore floor length white lace gowns and crowns of flowers. Gullys Garden Floral Services styled the floral arrangements.
Jess made the stationery. She recalls “I created all the stationery myself and Luke and my family members helped me to make it all. We utilised a mix of kraft paper, cream recycled paper and seeded paper for all the stationery. The stationery theme ran appropriate by way of from the save the dates to the placeholders which helped to actually tie every little thing together.”
The wedding and reception was held at Riverside Receptions. Jess explains “Following going to a couple of distinct venues we ended up picking Riverside Receptions in New Farm simply because it was situated along the river and had a beautiful expanse of lush green grass with a few jacaranda trees. Luke and I knew we wanted an outside ceremony and that it would be perfect for what we were right after. All that was left to do was to pray for a sunny day – which looked doubtful but the clouds cleared the day prior to and we ended up getting a lovely clear day.”
Walking down the aisle was an intensely memorable moment for Jess. She recalls “I walked down the aisle to Bruno Mars ‘Just The Way You Are’ – Luke sings this song to me and it just fit the style of the wedding and was some thing contemporary and relaxed but romantic. Every time I hear the song now I am taken back to that lovely moment of walking down the aisle.
Walking down the aisle and just feeling so overwhelmed with happiness after I locked eyes with Luke – I don’t think I even noticed any individual else after that. It was a moment I’ll by no means forget.”
Jess and Luke remark, “Our wedding was on Wednesday the 1st of February in New Farm, Brisbane, QLD. We chose this special day as it would be our 6 year anniversary. Becoming a Wednesday we had been worried that some people may not be in a position to attend but it worked out perfectly and every person was able to make it. I would say to couples contemplating a mid-week wedding – DO IT! I had no hassles with it being mid-week and it was really a fantastic calm understanding that most vendor’s wouldn’t be booked and I needn’t worry about booking everyone straight away. I would advocate sending out save the dates early even though so people are aware of the date and can get time off operate, and so on. It was an amazing Wednesday Wedding!”
Jess remarks “Our wedding was a reflection of Luke and I and a way to show our enjoy and commitment to each other in front of close friends and family.”
Of their photographer, Jess says “Our photographer was Deborah Boots of Boots Photography and she was Amazing! The photography was actually critical to us, as following the day is finished and your memories fade the images are all you actually have left. Right after visiting her web site I knew she would be in a position to capture our day perfectly – and she did! Deb takes beautiful photos and actually captured the personalities of Luke and I in the photographs which I love. Endless thank you’s to Deb for the gorgeous photos and producing the entire process so simple and fun. I would highly advocate her to any individual.”
The wedding cake was created by the bride’s mother and topped with a card cake topper from ReadyGo.
Jess continued her handmade stationery by means of to the reception, explaining “Luke and I decided on a ‘perfect pear’ theme for our wedding. I created a little logo for the wedding day featuring a pear and everything just came with each other following that. Our perfect pear theme was identified throughout all the details: from the wedding invites (which featured a pear on the rsvp card and envelope liners), to our personalised stamp featured on most of the stationery (applications, menus, coasters) to the actual pears that were utilised on the table as placeholders.”
Jess says “I DIY’ed a lot of the facts at the wedding and I loved it! I would actually recommend to brides to place in the time and work to do some items oneself it is very rewarding and just makes the whole day a bit a lot more personal.
We wanted to generate a romantic vintage garden celebration really feel for the ceremony and reception so I collected lots of vintage jars and vases throughout the lead up to the wedding and these were utilized on the tables for centrepieces. Id also purchased a significant roll of hessian which we used as table runners, banners and the aisle runner. My parents produced a beautiful ribbon altar for us using our theme colours of: whites, creams, golds and pale yellows.”
Of their 1st dance, Jess recalls “Luke and I did a bridal dance crash course about a week out from the wedding. The dance wasn’t as well crucial to us but we didn’t want to be stepping on every single others toes! We did have a few teary eyes in the course of the dance so fortunately we mustn’t have been as well negative! Our song was Aerosmith’s “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”.”
For that last piece of enjoyable entertainment? The couple used a photobooth from In The Booth. Jess says “We had a photobooth at our wedding which we had been fortunate adequate to have actually won. It was hired by means of ‘In The Booth’ and was an absolute highlight at the wedding. It was wonderful understanding that guests had a thing entertaining to do even though the bridal party were off finding photographs and also that they would have a little keepsake to take house from the wedding. I would very advocate hiring one at your wedding and In The Booth were great – so versatile and such exceptional buyer service. It was truly great to get house the subsequent day and have our photobooth guestbook filled with photo strips and notes from guests to study by way of and appear over.”
