Georgie & Justin
These days’s nation wedding (held on a private property near Sutton Grange in Victoria) is a splendid occasion of colour, enjoyable and whimsy!
Georgie tells of how they met. “We had been high school sweethearts and met back in 1996 at a friend’s birthday party. I had observed him about at sporting events as he was rather the athlete – tall, handsome (or ‘hot’ as a 15-year-old would say) and had a cheeky smile. He ought to have thought I was all appropriate, too. On our very first date we had a picnic at the beach. He had gone to a lot of work and was such a gentleman. He told me later that he was keen to impress me but also quite nervous as he’d had a crush on me for rather some time.”
Light, bright and sunshine filled photographs nowadays are by Photography by Sarah J.
Georgie wore the “Sweet Pea” gown by Ivy & Aster from Studio White. She explains ” I was originally going to get my dress when we visited New York in September but speedily realized it would not arrive on time. The dress I wanted had one stockest in Australia, which funnily sufficient was in Tasmania. So the bridesmaids and I flew down to Tassie for the weekend and visited a beautiful bridal named Studio White. We had the whole place to ourselves and the women were completely fantastic. It made the knowledge so enjoyable and of course I identified my dress.”
The bridesmaids wore watermelon pink gowns from Lela Rose. The girls styled their own makeup (right after obtaining difficulty discovering a makeup artist obtainable) and used Florence and Maud Hairdressing, Kyneton (03) 5422 2180 for their hair. Georgie remembers, “Julie was lovely and quite excited to be carrying out our hair for the wedding. She arrived to the residence early in the morning to commence on my mother’s hair and the bridesmaids. Julie did an incredible job and we had been all quite content with the finish result. ”
The wedding has a bit of a bicycle theme with the bride arriving in a Christiania bicycle (from Cycle Ideas) driven by her father. Georgie remembers, “My dad was meant to pick up the bridesmaids and I from the cottage that we had been staying at (15mins) away but with almost everything that was going on he lost track of time. So there we were waiting outdoors the gates for him to come, (following calling to see if any person was choosing us up) and dad comes zooming down the dirt road so the dust begins flying everywhere. We are all signalling him to quit so I had to run back round the gate with the girls placing a barrier up in front of me. It was pretty funny!”
Georgie says “We got married at Mica Grange as we had fallen in adore with the beauty and magic of this incredible place and wanted everyone else to knowledge its delightful charm. Mica Grange is a spot like no other. A haven of peace and tranquility in the heart of Sutton Grange. Its exclusive place provides beautiful panoramas from each and every aspect/outlook, delivering you with breathtaking views of Mount Alexander, the valley with its granite rock formations and the gorgeous surrounding gardens. Each of us love Mica Grange and have several special memories from there. It is an establishment where a single can anticipate a magic charm to be cast more than them time and time once more.”
Georgie remarks, “The colour scheme was vibrant yellows, oranges, reds and pinks, and the theme was bikes, so we had vintage bikes placed all about the home with flowers in each and every basket. We had giant yellow balloons too, large sufficient to carry you away.”
There had been even flowers for the ceremony spot. Georgie recalls “My parents had been operating on the garden for the past year to make it as gorgeous as it was. My mother had been collecting rose petals for us to stand in for the ceremony.”
Georgie walked down the aisle to the Glee version of “Songbird.”
Georgie loved “Seeing people pleased, getting lots of entertaining and smiling all through the huge day. The weather was best, it was such a magical day and issues ran really smoothly.”
Roland Schaedle Fine Food Catering, Kyneton catered the wedding. Georgie explains “A formal sit down dinner wasn’t truly our style we wanted it to be a bit more fun so we decided on canapés and small bowls of food on the lawn. Ice – creams came out initial followed by drinks in Mason Jars with paper straws to match the colour scheme. The food was beautifully presented and scrumptious. More and much more food just kept coming out so the guests had been very content. ”
All of the decorations had been handmade – like the giant picture frame which James produced himself!
For their 1st dance Georgie remembers, “Our initial dance was to L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole and right after only 3 lessons it was time to debut our dance. We thought we would be extremely nervous but as soon as the music began, the swing beat helped us loosen up. We pulled our turns, dips and even the lift, it was fantastic entertaining!”
The wedding cake was “Made by my mother & brother. I wanted a croquembouche or croquembouche-style cake, but with macaroons which was a bit a lot more challenging to uncover. So, my brother becoming a chef and my mother being the most incredible cook ever, they decided that they would make it themselves.
It had 3 tiers and was surrounded by raspberry and vanilla macaroons. It looked sensational and tasted spectacular.”
