It’s not a Supra, but… When it debuted in 2007, is was suggested that the Toyota FT-HS (Future Toyota Hybrid Sport) may well fill the void left by the iconic turbocharged sports coupe. Toyota, nonetheless, suggests that this is not the case, but rather that the FT-HS will generate a new market segment for an “attainable exotic,” with costs slated to start off about the mid-$ 30,000 range. The beautiful two+2’s high overall performance V6 is mated to the newest version of Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive and hypothetically will produce about 400bhp, with a projected -60 time of about four seconds. Aesthetically, this vehicle appears to borrow fairly a bit from the Lexus LF-A, such as the elongated nose and angular physique. The FT-HS will be revamped prior to the Tokyo Automobile Show later this year, hopefully emerging shortly thereafter in 2010 as a production model.
